INFORMATION FOR BACKPACKERS
BACKPACKERS 2020 is cancelled because of the Coronavirus situation, see the announcement on the home page.
Thank you for volunteering, or thinking of volunteering, at BACKPACKERS. Whether this is your first time of volunteering or your twenty-something time there will be things you need to know and have for the current year's BACKPACKERS. This page is the starting point for that information.
You may be wondering how you can help or what a particular role entails. Remember, as well as being on-site during the four days of BACKPACKERS, there are things that need doing before and after the actual event and there are off-site roles if you cannot get time off work during the week of BACKPACKERS. The Volunteer Roles page has information about all the different volunteering roles.
Key dates and times can be found on this page.
Ready to apply to volunteer? Then you need to go to this page.
There is a BACKPACKERS Handbook which tells you all you need to know about helping at BACKPACKERS, including the timetable for each day and more information about the different roles. The teaching material for this year will be available before the start of BACKPACKERS. This Documents page gives access to both those items and other documentation that will be helpful to you.
For this current year we are particularly in need of volunteers for:
Just about everything at this stage - but Group Leaders are key to the number of children we can accomodate.
Backpackers is organised by a team of helpers from churches in and around Chesham as part of a Chesham Ecumenical Association. Registered Charity No. 1013519
